LSU continues to prioritise this work and we have made some excellent progress during last year, but much more is planned.
LSU has an immense amount of data on what our members do acquired through:
– Our web based membership system MSL which records all involvement in clubs, societies and other student activity.
– Our Loughborough Loyalty scheme purchasing data which tells us about when they spend money with the Union.
– Opinion and attitude based data including our ground-breaking tribes segmentation work and various surveys.
Overthecourseoftheyearweweresupported by a Civil Service Fast Track placement to help us further develop our capacity in data analytics. Based on this and other work throughout the Union we have developed a major new data and communication strategy that will ensure we understand our members better than anyone else.
We are planning to work in a close partnership with Loughborough Sport to develop our work in this area over the next year.
Targeting our communication makes it more effective at engaging students in activities and our commercial enterprises. We can identify and reach those unengaged students and focus communication on what those who are engaged are most interested in.
As part of our communication strategy we have undertaken a complete redesign of our web “ site with the support of University secondment.
The clean and modern photography based design has improved navigation and will have a positive impact on the LSU overall image.
